LCD Screen
Flat screen technology, which is achieved by tiny liquid crystals changing colour. Just like, but much more advanced, than a digital watch or Game Boy screen.

Long Play
A function on a VCR that allows the tape to have two or three times the amount of time on it by slowing the rate of tape travel. Quality is sacrificed.

Lossy
Compression formats such as MP3 are classed as lossy. This means the compression system removes certain frequencies from the original signal which can lead to an audible loss of sound quality.
